Hi. I am Indonesian staying in Busan. Currently, I only have my Indonesian driver’s license. I now need a Korean driver’s license. What should I do and what kind of documents do I need to get one?
A: Let me tell you about the documents that you need. You need your Indonesian driver’s license, not the copied one, but the original one, Alien Registration Card, and your passport. On your passport, the date you departed and the date you arrived in Korea should be able to be checked. You also need to bring three passport photos of yourself, Embassy Confirmation or Apostille Certificate for Indonesian Driver’s License and the Certificate of Immigration. The Certificate of Immigration should include your travel information from the year of birth to the present.
If you are ready with all these needed documents, you should visit 부산북부 운전시험면허장 or Busan Buk-bu Traffic Authority Center located in Busan’s Sasang-gu district. You will go through a physical examination and a written examination, which cost 6,000 won and 10,000 won, respectively. When it comes to a written examination, I think it is a test with multiple choices. I hope that you are going to feel freaked about it.
