Korean Driver’s License

Hi. I am Indonesian staying in Busan. Currently, I only have my Indonesian driver’s license. I now need a Korean driver’s license. What should I do and what kind of documents do I need to get one?

A: Let me tell you about the documents that you need. You need your Indonesian driver’s license, not the copied one, but the original one, Alien Registration Card, and your passport. On your passport, the date you departed and the date you arrived in Korea should be able to be checked. You also need to bring three passport photos of yourself, Embassy Confirmation or Apostille Certificate for Indonesian Driver’s License and the Certificate of Immigration. The Certificate of Immigration should include your travel information from the year of birth to the present.

If you are ready with all these needed documents, you should visit 부산북부 운전시험면허장 or Busan Buk-bu Traffic Authority Center located in Busan’s Sasang-gu district. You will go through a physical examination and a written examination, which cost 6,000 won and 10,000 won, respectively. When it comes to a written examination, I think it is a test with multiple choices. I hope that you are going to feel freaked about it. Busan Museum of Art Will go Through Renovation

We will have to say goodbye to the Busan Museum of Art for a while, because the museum will begin one of its biggest renovations ever.

Until it opens again in 2026, lasting for over three years beginning from December 18th , the Busan Museum of Art will be closed and undergo a 43 billion
won renovation.

During the transformation work, Space Lee Ufan will remain open, and the BMA will continue to engage audiences through Metaverse-based online exhibitions. We will be very looking forward to the whole new look that the BMA will go through.

The Results for the World Expo 2030

Tomorrow on November 28th, the city that will host the World Expo 2023 will be announced. We have been waiting for this moment for so long! At 8:30 pm that day, around 1,000 citizens will gather at Busan Citizens’ Hall to cheer on the winning of Busan.

We will see how things go. Keep your fingers crossed!

Busan Firework Festival 2023

I think one of the biggest and most popular annual festival is the Busan Firework Festival. This year, the festival will happen on November 4th under the theme “Dream.”

The results of which city will host the World Expo 2030 will be announced this November. The theme of the firework festival is fitting because Busan citizens are dreaming about winning.

The firework show is scheduled for 8 pm that day, however, there will be street performances happening at Gwangalli Beach from 2-6 pm.

The temperature fluctuates throughout the day, do dress accordingly.

Over 1 million people are expected to visit the Gwangalli Beach area that day, so be cautious.

However, if you are not a fan of crowds, Gwangalli is not the only place to enjoy the firework festival. The fireworks can be seen across the city, including Dongbaek Island, Marine City, Igidae Park and Hwangnyeongsan Mountain.

Visit Busan Pass

Recently, I have noticed that there are a lot of tourists in Busan. This must be due to the pandemic ending and the influence of K-culture. Anyways, I hope that everyone is having a great time while they are visiting!

Did you know that the city of Busan has officially launched the Visit Busan Pass, in collaboration with the Busan Tourism Organization?

This pass offers help to foreign tourists in Busan by giving them access to major Busan attractions and doubling as a transportation card. The city ran a trial period for the pass from February to July of this year and nearly 35,000 passes were sold. Now it’s in official use throughout Busan!

There are two different types of the Visit Busan Pass, the time-limited pass, and the quantity-limited pass. No matter what version you get, you will have access to 107 different attractions and stores.

You can find more information on the official Visit Busan Pass website. Plus, since it was recently launched, you can get the quantity-limited pass 50% off. I hope that the Visit Busan Pass will make it easier for non-Koreans to travel to our beloved city.

Suyeong-gang River LED Kayaking Experience

When I was scrolling through my social media, I stumbled across a photo of people kayaking in the Suyeong-River. I never knew that you could kayak there! I was super shocked by and jealous of this opportunity.

The Suyeong-gang River LED kayaking program is available only on September 22nd and the 23rd. There are only 280 spots available, so act fast!

The program is a part of a marine leisure sports tourism program that the city of Busan is running. There is also the Suyeong River Paddle Board Yoga Program and the Gwangalli Beach Sensory Experience to look out for.

Check out the official Visit Busan website to find more information or to make a reservation.

Busan International Photo Festival

A lot of different kinds of events are taking place at F1963 in the Suyeong-gu area throughout the year. If you visit F1963, make sure to catch the Busan International Photo Festival. It will be held at the Seokcheon Hall of the F1963 Complex and will last until October 12th.

The festival, Memories and Imagination within the Fiction of Reality, will showcase the works of 14 photographers from around the world. According to the organizer, there will be a featured exhibit regarding the war in Ukraine.

The exhibition at the Soekcheon hall is open from 10 am to 6 pm, and it is free to the public.

Busan Sea Festival

Many people will be visiting Busan this week. So, let’s talk about the Busan Sea Festival that is quickly approaching.

This year, the festival will be held from Tuesday, August 1st to Sunday, August 6th. It will take place at various locations around Busan, but mainly in the Haeundae Beach and Dadaepo Beach area.

Among the numerous events, there will be a Night Pool Party at Haeundae Beach on Friday, April 4th and a Wonderful Concert at Dadaepo Beach on Saturday, August 5th.

For the pool party, the city will install a gigantic swimming pool on the sand at Haeundae Beach. People will be able to enjoy an outdoor concert while standing in the swimming pool. The line-up for the Night Pool Party includes hip-hop artists like Swings, Han Johan, Ash Island, B-why, and Taebur.

The concert is free for everyone, and admission is given to those on a first come first serve basis, so expect a long line. Most people will probably start standing in line around noon despite the hot weather. Security will start letting people in at 6 pm, one hour before the concert starts.

Meanwhile, the Wonderful Concert, scheduled for August 5th, will take place at Dadaepo Beach at 6:30 pm. Artists such as Jay Rabbit, Paul Kim, and Soran will be performing. Right after the concert, a firework show will heat up the Dadaepo Beach area. The food court will be available from 4 pm to 9 pm, along with an outdoor pub. I hope you can visit Dadaepo.
